Mission Statement
Medifecta Healthcare Training, A Division of Health Care Training Systems, Inc., is dedicated to enhancing the well-being and skill level of family and professional care providers. We accomplish our mission by providing educational resources to individual caregivers and to organizations that support and train care providers. We are committed to enriching the caregiver’s experience, helping him or her provide safe and compassionate care.
About Our Work
Since 1995, Medifecta Healthcare Training (formerly Healing Arts Communications), has worked hard to develop standardized training programs and a wide array of other quality educational resources. We provide these to organizations whose mission is to train and support direct care workers, family and volunteer caregivers.
By providing these individuals and organizations with quality training materials appropriate for all levels of literacy and a variety of care settings, we are giving tens of thousands of people the tools to perform caregiving duties with skill, pride and confidence. This enriches both the care provider and care recipient’s experience, helping to ensure an adequate supply of well-trained care providers well into the future.
Our Strategy
Over the years, we have become an integral partner with thousands of organizations whose mission is to provide support and education to care providers. By working with area agencies on aging, hospices, home health agencies, hospitals, faith-based organizations, community colleges and other organizations, we have been able to reach greater numbers of providers. We have had a significant impact on the training of both family and paraprofessional care providers.
We solicit and receive feedback on our training materials and listen to our clients’ specific needs. We stay abreast of trends in demographics, health care for the aging and disabled, state and federal training requirements and laws affecting health care. We are well respected in the aging field both for the high quality of our resources and for excellent customer service.
Our Values — A Business With Heart
Our company’s values of sensitivity, compassion, respect and dignity come through clearly in the tone and content of every program we offer. We encourage caregivers to adopt these values in their caregiving practice as it will enrich their personal experience and enhance the quality of life of the individuals they care for.
Our Company History and Profile
In 1995 Marion Karpinski, RN founded Healing Arts Communications (now Medifecta Healthcare Training) in response to witnessing families struggle to perform hospital-level duties at home with little or no training. Marion recognized a pressing need for family caregiver education resources and teamed up with her husband, professional videographer Mike Karpinski to produce their first instructional video Caring for Someone on Bedrest. Since that time, the company has expanded its focus to include professional caregivers and has produced a series of instructional DVD programs in its Caregiving Series and Communication Series. In addition, the company has produced five comprehensive training programs, three books and a reference manual for home care providers.
Marion Karpinski, RN brings 35 years of nursing experience, much of which took place in hospital or skilled home care settings, while Mike Karpinski contributes an equal number of years in film and video production in hospital and health care settings. He holds a BS in motion picture and video production from Brooks Institute of Photography.
Healing Arts Communications received the 2005 Honorable Distinction Award for Small Business from the American Society on Aging for “its work in providing exemplary programs and services that meet the needs of the aging population,” a 4-star rating for the National Caregiver Training Program by the National Alliance for Caregiving, the 2006 Caregiver Friendly Award from Today’s Caregiver magazine and numerous other levels of recognition from the National Alliance for Caregiving, National Hospice Foundation, Video Librarian and National Mature Media.
In 2007, Healing Arts Communications changed its name to Medifecta Healthcare Training. “Our new name reinforces our continuing mission to educate and support caregivers; it clearly describes who we are and what we do today. We are pleased to present our new name to the thousands of organizations that we do business with, and to those not yet familiar with our educational resources,” said company president Marion Karpinski, R.N.
