After this 1 hour course, we will understand the way a person with Alzheimer’s perceives the world through their senses and how you can keep their living environment from being too overwhelming or stressful.
Learn how consistency with daily activities and a homey atmosphere can bring a sense of calm and safety to the residents’ environment. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: understand the importance of surroundings to the person with Alzheimer's; provide a consistent environment; establish daily routines and tasks; utilize recommendations from the Alzheimer's association for a positive environment.

Sharon K. Brothers, MSW
Sharon Brothers has been involved in education, writing, management and consulting for a wide range of care-related programs and services. She is currently CEO of the Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed) which encompasses the brands: aQuire Training Solutions, Medifecta, CarePro and EasyCEU. Sharon received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia in 1980 and has since spent her professional career in the health care industry, developing and operating four assisted living communities for over 18 years.
